Budz Western Conference Playoff Preview
Hello VGHL! It's that time of year where teams make that push to go all the way to the final and hoist the hardest trophy in sports to win… The Stanley Cup!
I will be bringing you both conferences and breaking down each series and first off we head out West and discuss what was all season long a tight conference!
#1 Chicago Blackhawks (44-12-3) vs #7 Vancouver Canucks (34-25-1)
In our first series we kick off with the Blackhawks taking on the Canucks! Led by Leafs and Hickey these Hawks were a force to be reckoned with all season as they finished first in the West. No doubt these Canucks are in tough against the West's top team but Killamilla and Wile Coyote come in and look to upset these Playstation Hawks and show that Xbox is here and here to stay and that they are for real. Looking to help in that upset will be the top forwards of the Nucks Fabbri (GP-31 G-35 A-47 Pts-82), Caufield (GP27 G-37 A-37 Pts-74), and team captain Wile Coyote who stepped up as a captain should with 47 goals, 28 assists for 75 points in 22 games! But rest assured these Hawks with a trio of their own will have something to say about that boasting 2 forwards over the century mark as former Hab Cory leads the way with 38 games played potting 76 goals, 61 assists for 137 points and following him is moisty_cheeks (49 goals, 57 assists) and owner Leafs (GP-27 G-37 A-50) with 106 points and 87 points respectively. The Canucks fall up short in this matchup in my opinion here as Chicago's top guns are just too much to handle. So with that being said…
Chicago's owner: "Should be a close series excited to see what both teams bring"
Vancouver owner: "We're hoping to continue the momentum through the last couple weeks we had in the regular season. We played Chicago twice through the season and had 2 hard fought games that were split, 3-2 Chicago then 4-2 Vancouver. We're expecting a close playoff series and may the best team win."

#4 Nashville Predators (37-17-6) vs #8 Colorado Avalanche (30-27-3)
Our second match up features the Predators vs the Avalanche! 3s commissioner vs 6s commissioner! How does it get any better than that folks!!! The Preds led by rookie NHL management duo Dturp and bubba_cheeks look to keep there impressive second half going after some moves and in season bidding picking up a good forward to bolster there right side and right wing on the top line in Willis (GP7 G-8 A-11 Pts-19) who after the bidding period joined forwards Chokey (GP-37 G-104 A-64 Pts-168) and Mondogotdangles (GP-46 G-75 A-96 Pts-171) to give the Preds a legitimate top line that can compete with most of the league! Looking to slow them down tho will be the top trio for the Avs in Iamwxvy (GP-27 G-42 A-42 Pts-84), Iginlx12 with 20 goals, 52 assists for 72 points, and xWhassup (GP-31 G-32 A-43 Pts-75) which they all averaged two plus points per game. As you can see by the numbers the Predators definitely have the better fire power in this series but we all know that the playoffs are a different beats and it gets tighter the battles get tougher and the defence gets stingier as the games go on but I still see the Preds getting passed the Avalanche but not as easy as you would think…Let's have a look at the season series and then there game 7 lineups!
Preds owner: "Well we had a rough end to the season. We are positive that's in the past. We as a team have been underdogs all year but we are ready to prove them wrong. Team of for most part rookie players and rookie owner. The Snake Plisskin signing at start was a well calculated move to get us going. It may just work out. #predsszn"
Avs owner: "It's going to be a tough battle against the Preds but we are up for the challenge and the team is ready."

#2 Edmonton Oilers (41-17-2) vs #6 Calgary Flames (34-21-4)
Well we have an all xbox matchup here as we get to see the Battle of Alberta in the first round and I am stoked to watch this matchup I am not gonna lie! How could it honestly get any better than a classic BoA! I hope it goes 7 for the community's sake! Led by W7TCH (GP-38 W-23 L-13) and VG vet brpdley (GP-33 G-71 A-54 Pts-125) aka zerczy the Oilers proved they are a contender to go all the way playing a solid team game with 5 skaters with 10 or more games and spreading around the offence with every skater averaging more than 2 points per game! Look out for Kozak (GP-10 G-27 A-22 Pts-49) & Killzone (GP-31 G-41 A-38 Pts-79) to help put out the flames and take this series handedly but as we know these Flames will be pesky and won't just fold under pressure and will surely look to upset there provincial rival and make them the talk of the province! Question is can the top producers for the Flamers burn the Oil into non existence as they come into this series being carried by Apollo Kurosaki with 42 games played 37 goals 54 assists for 91 points, followed by team owner TFA 24106 playing in 41 games tallying 36 ginos, 38 apples piling up 74 points and rounding out there big 3 is DARTH KN1GHT (GP-28 G-30 A-43 Pts-73). Honestly I dont think the Flames have enough to overtake the Oilers and show they are the top team in Alberta and will fall just short and will be hitting the golf course early.
Oilers owner: "From W7TCH The Edmonton Oilers, one of the Xbox teams brought into the league were sought to be weaker than PlayStation. However, us Oilers defied all odds and ended up one of the strongest teams of the league. We have had some changes in our roster from day one, but one group has stayed the whole way. Brpdley, Killzone, Wally, Terrier, Nelson and myself. We have then cleaned up other messes and now we have another line that could challenge any other teams. The oilers will be dangerous providing we keep trending in the direction we have been, and if that's the case watch out. Now for the first round it's the battle of Alberta, Calgary versus us Oilers and Calgary better be ready because this will be a fun matchup. Congratulations to all of the oilers players on fighting night in and night out and really bonding as a group. We are DEFINETLY looking forward to showing what we can do in the playoffs. Good luck to everyone else in their first round matchups."
Calgary owner: "No Comment"

#3 Anaheim Ducks (40-18-2) va #5 Los Angeles Kings (38-20-2)
To finish off the Western Conference for round 1 we head to California where the Ducks of Anaheim try to best the Kings and show who just is the mighty team of Cali! Leading the flying V this season is yuhh yuhh aka DjNoMemba (GP-47 G-47 A-48 Pts-95) with his sidekick kick ISizxr 12!! (GP-48 G-8 A-52 Pts-60). The Ducks had a stellar season finishing 3rd in the West which was fairly close all season long provinbg they belong and are one of the contenders to bring it all home for the xbox side and win that grand prize. VG rookie Bardsii led this team overall offensively this season as he put up 55 goals to go with 76 assists for 131 points giving the birds a deadly top line who knows how to win when it matters especially team owner Dj who already has some VG hardware himself. These Kings come in expecting this to be easy and have another thing coming but I believe they know what they are up against as they held the top spot in the West for a good stretch this season but slipped later on. They will look for MistrBruin (GP-48 G-58 A-87 Pts-145), Gilby (GP-39 G-47 A-69 Pts-116), Sloppyply (GP-20 G-37 A-24 Pts-61) ro get the Kings back on track like they are capable of especially riding the shoulder of Bruin and Gilby who need to be firing at that century point pace to give there Kings a chance in this series or they will be going home early.
Kings owner: "No Comment"
Ducks owner: "Gonna be a very good match up and tough series. LA had our number all season should be a really fun start to playoffs, could possibly go to 7 right off the start"
