Colorado Eagles vs Charlotte Checkers
Hello VGHL! We are finally at the Calder Cup finals! After grinding away for the last 4 months we are at the end of the tunnel and ready for an exciting finals to crown the Season 20 VGAHL Calder Cup Champion! We have the powerhouse Eagles from Colorado taking on the battle tested Checkers from Charlotte which should hopefully provide an entertaining series we all are hopin for!!! Let's get into the numbers , lineups and predictions for this final as we first will start with the projected game 7 lineups.

The Checkers boast a solid lineup that has players who could easily play and produce at the NHL level but so do these Eagles and in my opinion are first liners in any league no matter what! ALL 5 players on the Eagles play well together have chemistry and consistency at all ends of the rink which is going to give the checkers fits and I honestly just don't see them having enough firepower to keep up as the Eagles have pretty much eased to these finals and look to keep that goin right into the final! I give this edge even though those Checkers are solid. The Eagles are on another level.

Numbers dipped for the Checkers last series letting in more goals then they had during their first 3 series to reach this final although it wasn't disastrous it is a concern going up against this Eagles talented forward group that will look to continue to put pressure on the Checkers D-core and make their struggles continue! Leaving the edge once again to the Eagles!! As they are to much for the Checkers to handle

This was a tough decision even though it looks like an easy one. Peace has played lights out for his team and won 5 straight games before suffering his first loss of the playoffs which his counterpart in this series has yet to taste has he himself has had an even better playoffs knocking off 8 straight wins going 8-0 with a 1.58 Gaa and .831 SV % which you just can't look past in what team again gets the nod! No disrespect to Peace and yes with the team he has he still has great numbers!

The Eagles here are just better everywhere and all over the ice and just plain out dominant! A well oiled machine as you would say as they are better in every category. They are better offensively , defensively and in between the pipes! There is no weakness to this team at all. They have shown dominance all season and all playoffs long and I honestly see that continuing. They do however face a team which is more battle tested and could that be one advantage the Checkers hold ? as the Eagles have seemingly just eased to these finals and haven't faced much adversity other than a FF mess with the Iowa Wild in the previous round!. We will see but I don't see that being a series changer against these Eagles they are just too good!
Prediction : Eagles in 6 games!!!

That will no stop us from giving everything we can to give this team the best fight they’ve had thus far! Goodnight Colorado no matter what happens was a great season for both of us!”
