Hey, hey VGBiggieboys. It's ya boi here, everyone's favorite, Scy. Every week I am going to review and analyze the league and release my opinion on the best and worst performers. I know how much all of you love my opinions so this should be a fun season!
First off we have the Vegas Golden Knights. This is llXMalkin_71Xll's first season as owner and so far he has not disappointed. He has put together an incredibly solid team that is well deserving of their 11-0-1 record. Their only loss comes in OT against the Vancouver Canucks where they gave up 2 powerplay goals on 5 attempts. If they want to win this consistently all season they will need to take less penalties and certainly lock it up a little better on their penalty kill.
Second, we have the Vancouver Canucks. They are yet again owned by SNAKE_-_PLISSKIN and yet again seem poised for a great season. Bringing in RiseOfTheNinja as his captain seems to have paid extreme dividends and pair the strong management duo with the terrific team they've put together and they instantly become a cup favorite in the west along with Vegas.
Third, we have the terrible Carolina Hurricanes. HAT_TRICK_LEGEND returns as captain and has solidified his team as the beast in the east. Being aggressive in bidding and signing stay_at_homed definitely appears to have been a huge success as he played in all 12 games so far this season to match the Canes' record of 10-1-1. In a series of seven, no team in the east can compete with this roster. The only thing that would make them better is if they signed me.
Last in the top performers we have the Detroit Red Wings. Greekelite and Linde94 return this season and it looks like they will yet again be one of the best wing duos in the Biggies leading their team to a 9-1-2 record so far. I am a little surprised they did not go after a better center to complete their line but they appear to be fine so far. The rest of their roster is underrated but solid.
As you can easily tell by the top 4 teams so far, the league appears to be extremely unbalanced--especially in the West. The east has four terrible teams which is not incredible by any means but when you look at the west; they have 5 teams who are playoff caliber, 3 who have a legitimate chance to win the cup, two teams which are meh, and 8 teams that are just simply awful. Some of these teams are so bad I don't even want to discuss them so I will talk about the teams whom I believe should be doing much better.
Vibez and Akonvict21 return as management as Calgary and it appeared as thought they were poised to be a top performer this season but it would appear as though that will not come to fruition. Boasting players such as BiggyBiggs and schroyer69, this team should be performing a little bit better than they have so far. Look for Akon to play a little bit more as they try to win a few more games vs weaker teams such as the Coyotes... Seriously, how do you lose to the Coyotes?
I know a lot of you are going to jump down my throats for this choice but hear me out. The Hawks have boasted an extremely unimpressive 2-7-1 record. Which makes sense, their management team is for the most par completely lacking skill and their roster could use a fine tune-up but, there is one caveat here, one saving grace: the potential duo of Reppin_The-Six and Reapz. These two have the capability to control the pace of a game on their own and if they play together and play a little more, the rest of the league will be on notice.
Last but not least we have the Florida Panthers. "Scy, how are you going to include them? They boast a winning record at 7-5!" I shall tell you why; this team is a lot better despite their 7-5 record. prodigytolegend comes into his first season as an owner and he's made quite a few mistakes one of which certainly is not bringing Mclub326 in as his captain. This team has a lot of talent in their management duo but they're missing one key aspect every great team has: A GOOD CENTER... but they have 7 players signed up as goalie. Now, Mclub and Hardik88 should be one of the best dman pairings in the league if not the best so I'm not worried about that. I have my utmost confidence in Ben and believe he will work a trade to get a top center.
There you have it, a rather eventful first week and a half and a great start to the season. What I really like so far is that there doesn't appear to be a clear cup favorite yet. We have two teams from the east, the Red Wings and the Hurricanes as well as three teams from the West, the Golden Knights, the Canucks, and the Blues who all appear ready to distance themselves from the competition. If I had to pick, Vegas vs Carolina. Malkin and Hatty will meet together again but this time as opponents in a bitter games of 7 in which I believe Vegas will come out on top. Thank you all so much for reading and next week I will put more effort into this or make a bi-weekly video. Be sure to post your thoughts as well in the comments.
