What's up VGHL'ers, and welcome to the conference finals. After an exciting 2nd round, where Nashville pulled an upset by beating Chicago and Edmonton sweeping Los Angeles, its time for these two teams to clash. The Oilers are looking to extend their 8-0 winning streak. They have yet to lose a playoff game which is no easy feature in EASHL, by making easy works of Calgary and LA. As for Nashville, they keep surprising people by grinding out wins. This will be the last Playstation Vs XBOX series in the west. Will XBOX be able to prevail and make it the Stanley Cup finals, or will we have a PS5 vs PS5 final. Lets check out the stats.

Edmonton made easy works of Nashville in the season series by scoring a total of 15 goals in 2 games while only allowing 7 against them. Captain brpdley led the team in points in both games, putting up 2 goals and 5 assists in the first game and scoring 5 goals with 1 apple in the second. brpdley has the most puck possession time in both games, almost doubling any of his teammates in those two games. The best player for Nashville for the season series was MondoGotDangles. He got 3 gpals and 2 apples in the first game but didnt see great success in the second game only putting 1 goal. Edmonton scored 3 goals on 8 powerplay opportunities. Oilers are 28.4% on PP whereas Nashville is 31.8%. As for the PK, Oilers are 77.7% and Nashville is a low 69.8. Nashville will have to play a better disciplined hockey to avoid Edmonton capitalizing on powerplays. Both of these teams can put up points, Oilers average 4.37 points per game whereas Nashville puts up 4.58. This battle will come down to who makes the least mistakes and plays a better team defense.
The Oilers dominated last series by going 4-0 against LA. They won first game 5-4 won in regulation time, all the players were involved in points, Canadian 2 goals with 2 assist, Kozak 1 goal 2 assist, Locust 2 goals 1 assist. Defensemen Terrier had 2 apples and Nelson had 3 assist. Second game finished 7-3. Canadian and Kozak had to put the team on its back by each accumulating 6 points each. They needed to because owner W7TCH let in 3 goals on 12 shots which gave him a 0.750 this game. Game 3, the Oilers had a perfect match. W7TCH bounced back from a bad game and had shutout by saving all 11 shots. Defense was stellar because they didn't let anything in regardless of the 4 penalties they got that game. The last game of the series was a nail-biter by Edmonton winning 6-5 in overtime. They didnt have their usual starting defense which explains why it was so tight. Killzone was the overtime hero. brpdley only played 1 games this series which is surprising. It seems even the backup players holds their own weight which is key to winning that extra game.
Nashville had a longer round 2, by winning the series 4-2. First game Nashville fell short too Chicago losing 2-4. Goalie pemm even he allowed 4 goals, still managed to save 17 shots on 21 attempts. Mondo and zero both got a goal each. With defensemen Chxvy getting an assist on both goals. Nashville proceeded to bounce back in game 2 by winning 5-2. Mondo had 1 goal with 1 assist, zerosum had 1 goal 2 assist, cree put up 2 goals 2 assist. Picking up cree has been huge for them. Snake had 1 assist and Chxvy put up 1 goal with 1 assist. Pemm had a solid 0.895 SV% by saving 17 shots on 19 attempts. Nashville won game 3 4-1. They dominated time on attack with 10:27 compared to Chicagos 3:51. Chokey put the team on his back by scoring 3 of the 4 goals, easymoney had 3 apples and Willis put up the 4th goal and aided on 1 of them. Nashville only allowed 10 total shots which Pemm saved 9 of them. Game 4 they lost 2-3 in overtime. Game 5 they decided to take the series lead by winning 5-2. Chokey had 2 goals with 1 assist, Mondo got 1 goal with 3 apples, Willis had 2 goals with 2 assist and A2 Snake had 1 assist. They decided to finish the series in game 6 with the score of 5-3. Willis MVP that game scoring 4 goals with 1 assist, chokey had 1 goals 2 assist and mondo only got 1 assist. Chxvy put up 2 apples and Pemm saved 16 shots on 19 attemps putting up a 0.842 SV%.
This match up will be closer then people think. The Oilers are a more complete team with all players on the team, but Nashville are pretty poised together, seeing as their main forwards have basically been all together all season. Pemm is the better goalie, defense on both sides are about equal. It will all come down to better team defense, and making those big saves when needed.
