Well ladies and gents, the season has come and gone and it's time to once again crown the Memorial Cup champs for the PHL in season 14. This year was riddled with ups and downs and has been a battle through and through and despite the fall of the returning champs, the Sagueneens, it was an exciting season none the less.
The road to the cup in the PHL pitted all 4 #1 seeds against each other in the conference finals which usually means that you have the top 4 teams from the regular season, something which is quite rare to be hold, but this season it was just the 4 division winners as Halifax had more points in the regular season than Red Deer. When the Ice Dogs took out the Sags it seemed like destiny had said, this is your time to bring home the cup. The Ice Dogs fulfilled that destiny with a 4-1 series win over the Red Deer to become the Season 14 Memorial Cup Champs.
I would like to take the time to congratulate the Red Deer Rebels on a fantastic season in which they finished with a 46-20-6 record to win the Atlantic Division behind the leadership of Cg_click_qc (owner) and Shin-Ra_514 (captain). This team had a strong season and just fell short in the finals but it was still a great season for them despite the short comings.
Niagara finished 2nd in the Western Conference and 3rd overall in route to their Pacific Division championship. They had a record of 50-22-0 with a total of 100 points and the division title was never really in question beating out Seattle by 17 points.
Now let's meet the team that raised the cup:
